Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your download and use of InputVis ("InputVis", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"), a macOS menu bar app that displays your mouse clicks and keystrokes on screen. By installing or using InputVis, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app
InputVis runs on macOS and visualizes your input by drawing an on-screen overlay of your clicks and keystrokes while you record or present. To do this, the app requires the macOS Input Monitoring permission, which you grant in System Settings.
InputVis observes input events in listen-only mode to display them. The keystroke and mouse data it visualizes is processed on your device. For full details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
System requirements
InputVis requires macOS 15.0 or later. Some features may require a newer version of macOS.
License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use InputVis for your own use. You may not:
- Copy, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, or circumvent the watermark or any licensing mechanism other than through the official paid upgrade.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to monitor another person's input without their knowledge and consent.
Free version and paid upgrade
InputVis is free to use and includes full mouse and keystroke visualization. The free version displays an "inputvis.com" watermark in certain overlays.
You may purchase a one-time in-app upgrade to remove the watermark. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and pricing is shown at the point of purchase. All sales, refunds, billing, and restoration of purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms.
The upgrade unlocks watermark removal for the device or Apple ID associated with the purchase. You can restore a previous purchase through the app.
Acceptable use and responsible monitoring
InputVis is intended to make screen recordings and presentations easier to follow. You are responsible for how you use it. In particular, you agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the recording and monitoring of input and screen activity, including obtaining any consent required from other people whose activity may be displayed or recorded.
Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions through the app, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve InputVis without any obligation or compensation to you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in feedback messages.
Intellectual property
InputVis, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Disclaimer of warranties
InputVis is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every recording tool, display, or macOS configuration.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, recordings, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of InputVis. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
You may stop using InputVis at any time by removing it from your Mac. We may suspend or terminate your license if you violate these Terms. The sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of InputVis after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
